Minimise data in a form

Collect only information needed for a stated purpose.

Understand the idea

A form should have a clear purpose. More data is not automatically better; unnecessary personal information creates avoidable exposure.

WORKED EXAMPLE

A fictional classroom activity poll needs an activity choice. It does not need a home address or a personal photograph.

MAKE SOMETHING YOU CAN EXPLAIN

Your practical challenge

Redesign a fictional poll and write a purpose, access and deletion plan. Do not collect real responses.

Review your evidence

These ticks are your self-review. They do not automatically assess project quality. Ask an adult or partner to review what you can show.

Use the skill in a new situation

Consider whether even optional free text could reveal private details.

Choose a different space for another learner on this browser.

Notes and checks use this browser, separate from school sign-in.

Each space keeps each grade separate. These spaces are not private accounts; use separate browser profiles for privacy on a shared device. About your practice data
