GRADE 7 · DESIGN AND LIFE SKILLS · ABOUT 45 MINUTES

Define success before testing

Use observable criteria to evaluate a prototype.

Understand the idea

A criterion describes what a successful result would do. Define it before testing to avoid moving the goal after seeing results.

WORKED EXAMPLE

A paper sign should stand for one minute, show text from two metres and use one sheet. Test those stated criteria.

MAKE SOMETHING YOU CAN EXPLAIN

Your practical challenge

Design a paper desk sign and a test checklist. Mark unperformed tests clearly.

Review your evidence

These ticks are your self-review. They do not automatically assess project quality. Ask an adult or partner to review what you can show.

Use the skill in a new situation

Explain a trade-off between stability and material use.
